Create Your First Group Trip

A walkthrough of building a Group Trip, from creating it through publishing for signups.

This is the build order for a Group Trip: create it, build the one shared itinerary, set up the landing page and inventory, then publish so travelers can sign up. Each step links out to the detail where it exists. For what a Group Trip is and when to use one, see Group Trips Overview.

Step 1: Create the Group Trip

  1. From Trips, click Create Trip.

  2. Enter a Trip Name.

  3. Set Trip Type to Group. Once saved, this can't be changed back to a regular trip.

  4. Set the Trip Status, and either pick a Start Date and End Date or check Add Dates Later and enter a number of days instead.

  5. Click Save.

Good to know: There's no Travelers field on a Group Trip's create dialog. Travelers are added to a sub-trip, either by you or by a client signing up.

You'll land on the Group Trip's Overview tab.

Step 2: Build the shared itinerary

Open the Proposals tab. A Group Trip has exactly one itinerary, the single template every sub-trip inherits. Build it the way you build any proposal: add days, hotels, cruises, activities, and transport, or import components from your library.

Two things matter more here than on a regular trip, because they're what each party chooses for themselves at signup:

Step 3: Add sub-trips

Sub-trips arrive two ways. A client signs up through the published landing page and their sub-trip is created from their answers, or you create one manually for a traveler you already know.

A sub-trip you create yourself skips the signup wizard entirely. Share it with the traveler and they choose their rooms, cabins, and add-ons from their client portal, the same way a client does on a regular trip.

To create one manually, go to the Overview tab, click New on the Sub-Trips card, give it a name, status, and optional tags, then click Create Sub-Trip. See Manage Sub-Trips.

Step 4: Set up the landing page

Open the Landing Page tab to build the public page travelers see before signing up: a title, hero images, a description, your advisor card, a signup CTA, and optional sections like FAQs or a gallery.

A page title is required before it can publish. Everything else is optional. See Create and Manage Landing Pages.

Step 5: Set room and cabin inventory

If a supplier has blocked off a limited number of rooms or cabins, set a stock count on each option so it stops being offered once it's full. Usage shows on the Inventory tab as sub-trips are created. See Manage Inventory.

Step 6: Publish so travelers can sign up

Click Preview to see the traveler-facing view first. This needs the landing page saved at least once.

When you're ready, click Publish. This snapshots the Group Trip and, if the landing page has a title, publishes that too. Without a title, the trip still publishes but the landing page is skipped, and you'll see a reminder to add one.

Then use Share to hand out the Trip Link or Landing Page Link, or the ⋮ menu for an embed snippet. See Share a Group Trip: Trip Link vs Landing Page.

Good to know: You don't have to wait for the landing page to be ready. Create sub-trips manually for travelers you already know at any point, published or not.
