Rooms and cabins are how you organize where travelers sleep inside a proposal. You create them on a Lodging component's Room tab or a Cruise component's Cabin tab, and they work the same way in both places. The label just matches the component type.
Everything in this article applies to every trip, regular or group. What changes is whether you convert them to options, which is covered at the end.
Where to find them
Open a proposal, select a Lodging or Cruise component, click Edit, and open the Room or Cabin tab.
The screen has three areas: the list of rooms or cabins you've created, the traveler assignment panel showing who's placed and who isn't, and the tools for searching inventory and making selections.
Create a room or cabin
Click + Add Room or + Add Cabin. Each one becomes its own card, headed by its name, where you set:
Name, for example "Ocean View Balcony" or "Room 1".
Description, optional, for amenities, bed configuration, or anything the traveler should know.
Photos, so travelers can see what they're getting.
Add as many as you need. Each is managed independently, so a family of six might use Room 1 for the parents and Room 2 for the children, and a cruise booking might use one cabin for a couple and another for friends traveling with them.
Search inventory
Rather than typing everything yourself, click Search Room or Search Cabin to browse available accommodation, pick one, and apply it. The room or cabin details populate automatically.
Assign travelers
Click Make Selections and place each traveler into a room or cabin. Anyone you haven't placed sits in the Unassigned Travellers section, so check that before you save.
Assignments are what make occupancy correct, so it's worth confirming the distribution matches what you're actually booking before the proposal goes out.
Edit or remove
Name, description, photos, assigned travelers, and the selected accommodation can all be changed at any time. Changes save with the component.
To remove a room or cabin, click the X in the top-right corner of its card. Anyone assigned to it returns to the Unassigned Travellers section.
Save to Library
If you'll reuse a setup, click Save to Library and give it a name. It's then available to pull into other proposals. See Import from My Library.
Convert to Options
By default, every room or cabin you add is part of the itinerary and their prices are summed. Convert to Options changes that: they stop being a fixed set and become choices the traveler picks between.
The button sits next to the room or cabin list on either trip type. Converting unlocks:
Occupancy range and occupancy-based pricing, so the same room can charge different rates for single, double, triple, or quad occupancy. See Occupancy-Based Pricing.
Client selection, letting the traveler choose their room and party size, with the right price for that occupancy.
On a Group Trip, options mode also unlocks availability deadlines, limited slots, inventory tracking, and the public signup wizard. See Group-Only Room and Cabin Controls.
Good to know: Converting back is possible but destructive once travelers have chosen. The button becomes Revert to rooms or Revert to cabins, and reverting discards any selections clients have made and returns pricing to the standard total. Your rooms, cabins, names, descriptions, and prices are kept either way.
