Activity Logs give you a chronological record of everything that has happened on a trip or a contact. Each entry shows who made a change, when they made it, and exactly what changed - so you always have a clear audit trail of how a record reached its current state.
The same activity feed is available in two places: inside a trip, and on a contact profile.
Where to Find Activity Logs
On a trip
Open a trip and select Activity from the left navigation, under the More group. The feed shows every change made to that trip.
On a contact
Open a contact and select the Activity Logs tab. The feed shows every change made to that contact, including updates to its details, tasks, automations, forms, and other related records.
How the Feed Is Organized
Entries are grouped by date, with the most recent activity at the top and a heading marking each day. Each entry shows:
Who - The actor that made the change (see below).
What - A short summary of the action, such as "created Trip," "added Travelers," or "submitted the form."
Type - A colored badge indicating the kind of change: created, updated, added, removed, or submitted.
When - The time the change was made.
Expand any entry using the chevron on the right to see its details.
Who Made the Change
Each entry is attributed to one of two kinds of actor:
A teammate - Shown with their initials and name (for example, a change you make yourself). These are actions a person took directly in TripLoft.
System - Shown with the TripLoft logo. These are changes TripLoft made automatically - for example, creating a form, applying workflow tasks and automations, or updating contact details from a submitted form.
Seeing both side by side makes it clear which changes were made by hand and which happened automatically.
Event Types
The badge on each entry tells you what kind of change it was.
Created
Lists the initial values a record was given. For example, a newly created trip shows its Title, Trip Type, Trip Status, Client Names, and Number of Days as they were first set.
Updated
Shows each changed field as a before-and-after, so you can see exactly what was modified:
The previous value appears struck through, with an arrow pointing to the new value.
A field that had no prior value shows (empty) before the arrow - for example, a passport Number changing from (empty) to a number, or an address filling in City, Line 1, State, Country, and Postal Code.
A field that was cleared shows (removed) as the new value.
Related fields are grouped under one entry - for example, a task update might show Due Date Type changing from relative to fixed, Due Date Days from 7 to (removed), and Due Date Reference from after_birthday_date to (removed), all together.
Added and Removed
Record when related items are attached to or detached from a trip or contact - such as Travelers, Workflows, Automations, or Tasks. An added entry can be expanded to show details of what was added (for example, the Name of an automation or workflow), while a removed entry records that the item was detached.
Because applying a workflow attaches its tasks and automations automatically, you'll often see a cluster of System added entries alongside the teammate action that triggered them.
Submitted
Records when a form is submitted against the trip or contact. The entry shows the Form name and a View submission link that opens the full response. You'll typically see a matching System created the form entry nearby, marking when the submission record was generated. For more on what happens after a form is submitted, see Using Form Responses in Trips and Contacts.
Why Activity Logs Are Useful
Because every change is recorded with its actor and timestamp, Activity Logs help you:
Understand how a trip or contact reached its current state.
See who made a particular change, and whether it was done by a teammate or automatically by the system.
Confirm whether a field was set, updated, or cleared, or whether an item was added or removed.
Jump straight to a form submission from its log entry.
Review recent activity when picking up work on a record.
Conclusion
Activity Logs provide a complete, time-stamped history of changes on both trips and contacts. Whether you're verifying a recent edit, tracing an automated change back to the workflow that caused it, or opening a form submission, the feed gives you a clear view of who changed what and when.
