On a cruise Group Trip you can collect a deposit to secure a booking instead of full payment up front, and you can offer coupons as an alternative way for travelers to pay that deposit. A coupon lets a traveler hold their cabin by paying a smaller amount now, while a larger value (your contribution plus theirs) counts toward their trip. This article covers setting both up on a cruise component and how they reach the traveler and the Sub-Trip. For how cabin pricing and occupancy tiers work, see Occupancy-Based Pricing for Group Trips.
When deposits and coupons apply
Both depend on the payment schedule you choose on the cruise component's Pricing & Booking tab:
Deposits are available when the schedule is Deposit + Final Balance or Set Installments. With In Full, there's nothing to deposit, so no deposit field appears.
Coupons are available only on cruises, and only with those same two schedules.
Setting the deposit
Once the payment schedule is Deposit + Final Balance or Set Installments, a Deposit field appears alongside the cabin's pricing. When the cabin is priced by occupancy, the pricing table carries a Deposit column, so each occupancy row (single, double, triple, quadruple) has its own deposit. For how the rate types and occupancy tiers are configured, see Occupancy-Based Pricing for Group Trips.

Offering coupons as deposit
Under Add Coupon Option on the same tab, turn on Allow coupon as deposit ("Clients can opt in to buy a coupon as their deposit"). Then add a coupon and define:
Label: the coupon name travelers see, for example "Cruisefirst coupon."
Description: a short explanation.
Valid from / Valid until: the dates the coupon can be selected.
Policy type: the coupon's refund terms, which you choose explicitly (for example, Fully Refundable or Non-refundable). This determines whether the coupon is refundable, and it's shown to the traveler at signup.
Value breakdown: three fields, Client pays (what the traveler pays now), Extra credits (the value you add on top), and Total value, which calculates automatically as Client pays plus Extra credits.
Terms & restrictions: the coupon's terms and conditions, added with Add New Policy.
Save the coupon with the save icon and it collapses to a compact card with edit and preview controls. Add as many as you like with Add another coupon option, then save the component.

How the value works: the Total value is what counts toward the deposit, but the traveler pays only the Client pays amount; the Extra credits are value you contribute. So a "$150 + $150" coupon credits $300 toward the deposit while the traveler pays $150, and they save the $150 in extra credits.
What the traveler sees at signup
During signup, the traveler sets the number of travelers (cabins that don't fit that occupancy show as Unavailable), selects a cabin, and sees the price breakdown and the deposit due. They then choose under Select deposit option:
Pay standard deposit: the deposit you set for that cabin and occupancy. The panel shows what they pay now and the remaining balance.
A coupon: selecting a coupon shows a note explaining the match (for example, "buy a $150 coupon, we match it with $150 free credit giving $300 toward your deposit"), the amount they pay now, the remaining balance, and the value they save, along with the coupon's terms to agree to and an e-signature.
At the final Authorize payment step, the chosen coupon is shown as replacing the standard deposit (for example, "Replaces original deposit amount of $540 with $300"), and the traveler authorizes their card. For the signup experience end to end, see Create and Manage Landing Pages.

How it appears in the Sub-Trip
In the traveler's Sub-Trip, the cruise component shows their selected cabin at its occupancy price with no inline deposit field; the deposit appears in the payment schedule instead, reflecting whether they chose the standard deposit or a coupon. The Bookings tab shows the cruise as a single price for that cabin.
