Import a Cruise from the Cruise Library

Search TripLoft's cruise catalog by cruiseline and dates, then import a sailing with its ports of call, cabins, and other details as editable trip components.

Rather than typing out a sailing manually, search TripLoft's cruise catalog and pull the ship, its ports of call, its cabins, and its onboard details into your proposal in one pass. You search by cruise line and date window, then pick a sailing. Everything that comes in belongs to that specific ship, not to the cruise line as a whole.

TripLoft's cruise catalog and itineraries are powered by Widgety, a cruise data provider. The cruise lines, sailings, ports of call, cabins, deck plans, and onboard activity details you see come from Widgety's database.

What comes in

  • The cruise itself, as a Cruise component with the ship's description, photos, cruise type, departure and arrival ports, and length.

  • The ports of call, as dated Port components on their matching days.

  • The cabins you select, added to the cruise component's Cabin tab.

  • The onboard activities you select (Dining, Entertainment, Health & fitness, Deckplans), each as a separate Information component named for the ship.

Step 1: Add a Cruise component and open it

From the Add Items panel, add a Cruise component to your proposal, then open it to reach the Edit Cruise screen. The search lives on the General Info tab, in the Cruise Info section.

Step 2: Search by cruise line and dates

In Cruise Info, leave the Add manually toggle off to use the search. Then set:

  • Departing on or after and Arriving before or on: the date window for the sailing.

  • Cruise line: choose the operator from the dropdown.

Click Search cruise. TripLoft returns the sailings available from that cruise line within your dates, each listed by name and operator.

Step 3: Select a sailing and choose what to include

Click a sailing in the results to open the Add Cruise to Trip window. Selecting a sailing means selecting a specific ship, so every detail in this window belongs to that ship.

  • Cruise Details: the ship's photos, cruise type, departure and arrival ports, length, rating, and full description. Below that, an Itinerary (Ports of Call) checklist with each dated stop. Keep it checked to import the ports as dated Port components.

  • Activities: the ship's onboard categories (Dining, Entertainment, Health & fitness, Deckplans), all checked by default. Expand any category to preview its content, and uncheck what you don't want.

  • Cabin: the ship's cabin list with size, occupancy, accessibility, and category. Nothing is checked here, so select the cabins you want on this proposal. They all come in together when you import.

Step 4: Add the cruise to your proposal

When your selections look right, click + Add to Proposal. TripLoft adds the cruise, the selected ports of call on their matching days, the selected cabins, and the selected activities as Information components named for the ship.

Every imported item comes in at $0.00, and all trip travelers are assigned to them by default, the same as a component you add manually.

Work with cabins after importing

Open the cruise component's Cabin tab to adjust what you imported.

  • Add more cabins: click Search Cabin to pick further cabins from the same ship.

  • Assign travelers: drag a traveler into a cabin. Travelers stay in the unassigned list until you place them.

  • Convert to Options: present cabins as selectable choices for your client. See Manage Inline Options.

Enter a cruise manually instead

If the cruise isn't in the catalog, or you'd rather build it by hand, turn on the Add manually toggle in Cruise Info. The search is replaced with fields you fill in yourself: Carrier, Ship, Stateroom, and an editable Itinerary (Ports of Call) where you add the departure port, each port of call, and the arrival port with their dates, times, and time zones. Port details stay editable after you save the cruise.

Good to know

  • Everything is ship-specific. The cruise line and dates only narrow the search. All imported detail comes from the specific ship you select.

  • Pricing is not imported. Every component comes in at $0.00. Set pricing on each component's Pricing & Booking tab. See Configure Pricing for Proposal Components.

  • Traveler assignment and cabin assignment are separate. Imported components are assigned to every traveler on the trip, but travelers stay in the Cabin tab's unassigned list until you assign them to a cabin.
