If you're moving contacts from another system or adding a large number of records, you can import them in bulk instead of creating them one at a time. During the import, TripLoft validates your data and detects duplicates to keep your contact records accurate.
Import Contacts
To import contacts:
Go to Contacts.
Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
Select Import Contacts.
Click Import Basic Details
Step 1: Upload Your File
Select the Contact Type to assign to all imported contacts - Client, Supplier, Tour Operator, DMC, or Custom - then upload your file in CSV, XLS, or XLSX format.
If needed, click Download Template to use TripLoft's recommended import format.
Step 2: Map Fields
TripLoft automatically detects the columns in your file and lets you map them to TripLoft contact fields. Review the mappings and adjust them if needed. All required fields must be mapped before you can continue, and any columns left unmapped are skipped.
Step 3: Review Validation Results
Before importing, TripLoft checks your file and flags potential issues so you can resolve them on the spot, instead of going back to your file, editing it, and re-uploading. The validation screen shows how many issues were found, grouped into two lists:
Rows with Issues: rows missing required information or containing invalid data. The problem field is highlighted in the row itself; for example, a missing last name shows a red "Required" marker. Click the highlighted field and fill in the detail directly, or use the delete icon to drop the row from the import.
Redundant Rows: rows that duplicate each other within your file. Every row needs a unique combination of first name, last name, and email; when two or more rows share all three, TripLoft groups them together and you tick the checkbox of the one you want to import.
Once all flagged records are resolved, click Next to continue.
You can also click Download Duplicate List to save a copy of the flagged duplicates for reference.
Note on Duplicate Detection
TripLoft also checks your file against the contacts already in your TripLoft list, using the same unique identifier: First Name + Last Name + Email.
When a row matches an existing contact on all three values, the Duplicate Contacts Found dialog lists it with a Duplicate status and explains why it was flagged. To prevent duplication, those rows are skipped: click Continue Without Duplicates to import the remaining records (or Cancel Import to stop)
Complete the Import
Once validation is complete, finish the import. TripLoft processes the file and displays a summary of the contacts imported.
Imported contacts appear in the Active Contacts list, where they can be viewed, edited, and managed like any other contact.
Conclusion
Importing contacts is the fastest way to add large numbers of contacts to TripLoft. Use the import template, review field mappings carefully, and resolve any validation issues before completing the import.
